Workshop: Breadlines

Workshop: Breadlines

In April 2025 we welcome the Greek artist and cultural researcher Kleri Bakoura for a two-week residency at Museum Brot und Kunst – Forum Welternährung.
Her project “Breadlines: What We Share, What We Keep, What We Become” explores the deep connections between food, identity, and cultural traditions. How does our origin shape our taste? Can a familiar recipe become a bridge between past and present?

As part of her residency Kleri will develop a participatory workshop for internationals who have made Ulm or Neu-Ulm their new home. Through different artistic methods she’ll invite participants to explore how bread and food can serve as symbols of intercultural exchange, community, and social resilience.
The collected experiences and narratives from the workshop will flow into a short series of oral history videos, capturing and documenting personal and collective experiences of the participants.

The workshop will be held in English and is aimed at everyone with an international background.
Participation is free of charge.

The residency is supported by the European Union’s funding program "culture moves europe"
